FIELD: polysaccharides.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions is related to activated polysaccharides of Streptococcus pneumoniae serotypes 10A, 22F or 33F. An immunogenic conjugate containing polysaccharides of Streptococcus pneumoniae serotypes 10A, 22F or 33F covalently bound to a carrier protein, an immunogenic composition and a vaccine containing an immunogenic conjugate are proposed. The immunogenic conjugate contains a polysaccharide of Streptococcus pneumoniae serotype 10A, 22F or 33F, covalently linked to a carrier protein, and has a degree of conjugation from 2 to 15. The conjugate is prepared by making isolated capsular polysaccharide of serotype 10A, 22F, or 33F react with a periodate, quenching the oxidation reaction, mixing the activated polysaccharide with a carrier protein, and reducing it.
EFFECT: immunogenic conjugate, immunogenic composition and vaccine based thereon are suitable for manufacturing of a medicament for protecting a subject against Streptococcus pneumoniae infection.
