FIELD: road-building materials.
SUBSTANCE: method and installation for producing sulphur-impregnated chippings. The method consists in impregnating dense rock chippings in molten sulphur in a dynamic mode with its translational movement and mixing in the molten sulphur; cooling of the sulphur-impregnated chippings after its impregnation is carried out in a vibrating fluidized bed. The unit includes a device for impregnating chippings with sulphur in the form of a mixer tank with a means of moving chippings with a screw; the cooling device is made in the form of a vibrating tray, in the side walls of which there are holes for supplying air to the cooled sulphur-impregnated chippings.
EFFECT: increased productivity of preparing sulphur-impregnated chippings, improved strength characteristics, and elimination of caking and sticking of sulphur-impregnated chippings during impregnation, cooling and storage.
