FIELD: railway transport; permanent way; repair of worn switch points. SUBSTANCE: worn points can be repaired directly on tracks, without demounting. Repair is done by electric arc welding using ferritic- austenitic electrodes. In process of surfacing and after surfacing welded-on layer is exposed to deformation by wheels of passing rolling stock. EFFECT: improved quality of repair of worn out unit.
