FIELD: medicine; ophthalmology.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to prevent the inflammatory reaction after phacoemulsification of cataracts in patients with previously formed outflow tracts of intraocular fluid. After cataract phacoemulsification, the localization of the filtration pad is determined. Then, 4 subconjunctival injections of a 5-fluorouracil solution in a volume of 0.1 ml are performed in the area of the filtration pad on the 1st, 3rd, 5th and 7th postoperative days. After administration of the medicinal product, the conjunctival cavity is irrigated with water for injection.
EFFECT: invention provides effective and safe prevention of the inflammatory reaction after phacoemulsification of cataracts in this category of patients.
