METHOD FOR THE PREVENTION OF CORNEAL COMPLICATIONS AFTER GLAUCOMA SURGERY USING ANTIMETABOLITES Russian patent published in 2022 - IPC A61F9/07 A61P27/06 A61K47/32

Abstract RU 2782095 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to medicine, namely to ophthalmology. Subconjunctival injection of antimetabolite solution is carried out after antiglaucoma operation and impact on the injection zone. The puncture of the conjunctiva is performed at a remote distance from the edge of the scleral flap, the needle is passed into the subconjunctival space to the location of the scleral flap, the antimetabolite solution is injected into the subconjunctival space, then the needle is removed, the injection site is irrigated with a sterile solution, and a solution of moxifloxacin 0.3% is instilled into the conjunctival cavity or levofloxacin 0.5%, reparant or keratoprotector. In a particular case, sterile water for injection or sterile 0.9% sodium chloride solution is used as a sterile solution. In a particular case, dexpanthenol 5% is used as a reparant, and carbomer 0.2% or sodium hyaluronate 0.3% as a keratoprotector.

EFFECT: method allows to increase the efficiency and safety of prevention of corneal complications after glaucoma surgery with the use of antimetabolites by reducing the risk of epitheliopathy and corneal erosions after subconjunctival administration of antimetabolites.
