FIELD: aerosol generating articles.
SUBSTANCE: invention is related to containers for aerosol generating articles or components of aerosol generating articles. Container (1) for consumer goods contains an outer casing containing a part (60) in form of a box and a part (50) in the form of a lid. The lid portion (50) is linearly movable relative to the box portion between a closed position in which the lid covers the access hole and an open position in which the access hole is open. The container (1) contains a locking mechanism configured to transition between: a locked state, in which the lid part (50) cannot be linearly moved from a closed position to an open position; and an unlocked state in which the lid portion (50) can be linearly moved from a closed position to an open position.
EFFECT: providing the possibility of reducing the risk of accidental movement of the container lid from the closed position to the open position.
