FIELD: ore mining.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to granulation of iron-containing concentrate, which can be used in production of cement, insulating material for reclamation of sludge dumps and construction of new sludge dumps, in production of building mixtures and concrete, as well as in the metallurgical industry. Cylindrical granules are formed by pressing from a wet fine-grained iron-containing concentrate with a maximum particle size of no more than 1 mm and powdered mineral additives. A mixture is used consisting of 90 wt.% of fine-grained wet iron-containing concentrate containing SiO – no more than 18.0%, CaO – no more than 15.0%, TiO2 – no more than 8.0%, MnO – no more than 7.0%, V2O5 – no more than 3.0%, the balance is Fe2O3, and humidity from 6 to 18%, and 10 wt.% of a mixture of mineral additives, which contains, wt.%: quicklime grade 1 – 3 to 5% and bentonite – 5 to 7%. The fine-grained concentrate and mineral additives are mixed and pressed under pressure from 1.2 to 1.6 MPa to obtain cylindrical granules with a diameter of 20 to 30 mm and a length of 3 to 50 mm, after which the cylindrical granules are dried at the room temperature for 24 hours.
EFFECT: transportability of granular iron-containing concentrate is improved by preventing its freezing through optimizing its size and composition with optimizing its moisture content.
