FIELD: surface treatment of polycrystalline diamonds.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for surface treatment of polycrystalline diamonds obtained by chemical vapor deposition, and can be used for the production of cutting tools, conical surfaces of microelectronic parts, parts of fuel equipment of internal combustion engines and many other products operating under conditions of increased friction and wear. The method involves treating the coating surface by friction by interacting the treated coating surface with a rotating polishing tool in the form of a metal brush made of a material chemically active in relation to diamond. The polishing tool is installed normal to the conical working surface being processed. The cutting tool is rotated around the axis of symmetry of the surface being processed.
EFFECT: possibility of polishing the polycrystalline diamond coating of the working surface of the cutting tool and other rotating parts is provided, and the quality of the machined surfaces of the parts is improved.
