FIELD: hydrometallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in the processing of scandium-containing raw materials in sulphuric acid solutions. Scandium-containing raw materials are dissolved in sulphuric acid, and the resulting acid-insoluble precipitate is removed. The scandium solution is treated with an alkaline agent, namely potassium sulphate, introduced in an amount of 60-80 g/dm3, at a temperature of 60-90°C, followed by exposure for 0.5-1.0 hours and then no more than 24 hours at room temperature. Primary filtration and washing of the resulting precipitate are carried out, and the resulting primary filtrate is kept in a refrigerator at 4-6°C within 24 hours. The precipitate is treated with a solution of oxalic acid and filtered and washed again, the resulting precipitate is calcined.
EFFECT: minimum losses of scandium when using lean concentrates.
