FIELD: cooling of natural gas.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the automation of technological processes for cooling natural gas using air cooling units (ACU). The natural gas air cooler control system contains a temperature setting unit, a measurement information processing unit, temperature sensors for the walls of the air cooler heat exchange tubes, an automatic air cooler control unit, a variable frequency drive control system consisting of an actuator that smoothly starts the electric motors of the corresponding fans by connecting them to variable-frequency drive and connection to the AC network of the switched-on electric motors of the fans for operation in operating mode, and an actuator that switches the variable-frequency drive into the mode of automatically maintaining the set temperature of the walls of the heat exchange tubes of the ACU, a block for automatic group starting of the electric motors of the corresponding fans, consisting from a block that remembers the previous mode of operation of the fans before the power supply was turned off, a computing block for the group start-up algorithm and a block for outputting information on the currents of the electric motors of the corresponding fans and the rated current of the power supply source.
