FIELD: medical equipment.
SUBSTANCE: portable inhalation device for supplying an aerosol spray for medical purposes for inhalation therapy and a method for generating a nebulized aerosol of liquid (F) for medical purposes. The device comprises (a) a housing (1) having a side facing the user. The device includes (b) an impact-type nozzle (6) for generating an aerosol spray through the collision of at least two liquid streams. The nozzle (6) is attached to the user-facing side of the housing (1) in such a way that it is stationary relative to the housing (1). The device has (c) a fluid reservoir (2) located inside the housing (1). The device contains (d) a pressure unit located inside the housing (1). The injection unit has an end located upstream of the fluid, which is in fluid communication with the fluid reservoir (2). The injection unit includes a downstream end which is in fluid communication with the nozzle (6). The injection unit is configured to pump fluid (F) from the fluid reservoir (2) into the nozzle (6). The injection unit contains (i) a supply tube (5) having an end located upstream of the fluid. The supply tube (5) is configured to function as a piston in the pumping unit and is attached to the user-facing side of the housing (1) so that it is stationary relative to the housing (1). The injection unit has (ii) a hollow cylinder (9) located ahead of the supply tube (5) upstream of the fluid. The end of the supply tube (5) located upstream of the fluid is inserted into the cylinder (9) in such a way that the cylinder (9) is configured to move longitudinally along the supply tube (5). The pumping unit includes (iii) lockable means (7) for storing potential energy in a locked state and for releasing the stored energy in an unlocked state. The means (7) is located outside the cylinder (9) and is mechanically coupled with it in such a way that unlocking the means (7) leads to longitudinal forward movement of the cylinder (9) in the direction of the end of the injection block located upstream of the fluid. The injection unit is a pressure injection unit configured to expel fluid (F) at a pressure of at least 5 MPa. The method includes the steps for providing a portable inhalation device, filling, and actuating the inhalation device.
EFFECT: inhalation device, allowing the supply of aerosol spray formed from a medical fluid with a higher viscosity, in a short time and with higher reproducibility.
