FIELD: oil and gas production.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to drilling oil and gas wells with controlled pressure. The method includes (a) characterizing the change in fluid flow rate through the choke relative to partial throttle opening at a constant pressure drop across the choke, (b) characterizing the change in fluid pressure in the well relative to partial throttle opening at a constant flow rate of fluid entering the well, (c) characterizing the response time of the pressure in the well to changes in partial throttle opening, the delay time of the pressure response after changing partial throttle opening, and the back pressure acting on the well relative to partial opening of the throttle, using at least one of characterizations (a), (b) and (c) ) to calculate the control parameters for a proportional-integral-derivative controller, the output control variable of which is the partial opening of the throttle, and the input control variable is the fluid pressure in the well upstream of the choke. Characterizing the response time of pressure in the well to changes in partial opening of the throttle includes measuring the pressure in the well upstream of the throttle over time and determining the time elapsed between the change in partial opening of the throttle and the change in the measured pressure while pumping fluid into the well at a constant flow rate.
EFFECT: time costs are reduced, reliability and accuracy of pressure regulation are increased.
