FIELD: medicine; maxillofacial surgery; traumatology; plastic surgery.

SUBSTANCE: skin of the lower area of the face is degreased with a 70% solution of ethyl alcohol. A bandage made in the form of three separate kinesiological tapes with sizes 100 × 50 mm, 200 × 25 mm and 200 × 50 mm is applied to the skin. Kinesiology tapes are applied in the following sequence: tape with dimensions 100 × 50 mm is applied vertically in the chin area, in the center to the chin-cervical angle, tape with dimensions 200 × 25 mm is applied horizontally in the area of the labiomental fold to the corners of the lower jaw, and a tape with dimensions 200 × 50 mm is applied from the submental area to the zygomatic areas and fixed above the edge of the tape applied in the area of the labiomental fold. The area of fixation of the ends of the tape on the skin is from 14 to 20 mm².

EFFECT: method ensures the prevention of the occurrence and progression of postoperative edema in the postoperative area of the lower jaw.
