FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used when applying a kinesiological bandage to patients after orthognathic surgery. After 48 hours of surgery, the skin on which a bandage is applied is degreased, namely the areas of the middle and lower areas of the face, as well as the area of the back of the neck, in particular the area of the trapezius muscle, with a 70% solution of ethyl alcohol. Next, a postoperative bandage made in the form of separate kinesiological tapes is applied to these areas, with individual selection of the size of the tapes for each patient. Kinesiology tapes are applied as follows. Both the right and left sides of the face are taped using two separate strips of tape on each side. To carry out kinesio taping with the first tape, one end is applied to the area of the subclavian fossa, and the second is cut into 5 equal parts, with the first part fixed in the pillow area, the second in the area of the corner of the eye, the third in the infraorbital region, the fourth at the base of the large alar cartilage of the nose along the nasolabial fold, the fifth to the fossa of the corner of the mouth. Parts of the tape partially cover the swollen areas of the middle and lower areas of the face in the place of greatest swelling, with a stretching tension of the tape of 10%. To carry out kinesio taping with a second tape, which is fixed along the trapezius muscle, the common end is fixed in the area of the outer surface of the shoulder, and the second is cut into 2 equal parts, fixed at 45° along the descending and transverse part of the trapezius muscle, with tape tensile tension of 10%. All taping applications are performed using tape size 50×0.5 mm.
EFFECT: method ensures the prevention of the occurrence and progression of postoperative edema in the postoperative area of the lower jaw.
