SUBSTANCE: high dose rate source of 192Ir is implanted into the prostate tissue under the conditions of perineal access using needle intrastats. For the brachytherapy grid to pass through the skin, metal intrastat needles with an insertion depth of 1 cm are used, then the metal needles are removed and in their place, under ultrasound control, plastic intrastat needles with a rounded end are installed at the required depth.
EFFECT: method can significantly reduce the risk of developing erectile dysfunction in the post-brachytherapy period.
