FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to radiation oncology and urology. Spacer in the form of stabilized hyaluronic acid of non-animal origin is introduced into the fatty tissue between the rectal wall and the prostate gland by means of a blunt cannula which spreads soft tissues as it moves. After the cannula passes through the guide needle, its further advance is carried out under ultrasound control in the sagittal scanning plane. When the cannulas reach the implantation site, a spacer is introduced in volume of 4-10 ml and the cannula is removed.
EFFECT: method provides reduced risks of damaging the rectal wall and other anatomical structures in the area of interest.
