SUBSTANCE: used in instrumentation in the manufacture and operation of turbine flow meters. A method for monitoring the geometry of a turbine flow meter rotor involves bringing the turbine flow meter rotor into rotation at a constant speed, receiving, using an induction sensor located above the trajectory of the peripheral ends of the blades, an electrical signal, which is a sequence of alternating pulses, and determining the parameters of the signal characteristic associated with rotation, which is used as the spectrum of the signal. To assess the degree of identity of the rotor blades, determine the ratio of the amplitudes of the spectral components of the signal with frequencies equal to n, 2n, 3n, ..., (N-2)n, to the amplitude of the main component with a frequency equal to Nn, where n is the number of rotor revolutions, N is the number of blades in the rotor. To assess the magnitude of the rotor beat, the ratio of the amplitudes of spectral components with frequencies (N-1)n and (N+1)n to the amplitude of the main component is determined.

EFFECT: increasing the information content of the control by assessing the degree of identity of the rotor blades and the magnitude of its runout.
