SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of testing parts and assemblies of turbomachines, in particular to methods for determining the dynamic characteristics of work wheels. In the method of determining the diametral forms of oscillations of a rotating wheel of a turbomachine, at the first stage, a sequence of optical images of diametral forms of oscillations of a stationary wheel is formed, for which oscillations of a stationary impeller are excited, register the amplitude-frequency spectrum of its oscillations, using the optical method of registration, identify the diametral forms of oscillations of a stationary impeller and compare them with oscillation frequencies, on which peak values of oscillation amplitudes are recorded, in the second stage a strain gauge is installed on the impeller of the turbomachine, the turbomachine is brought to the operating mode and the output of the strain gauge is detected in the operating frequency range of the rotor rotational speed, and the rotational frequency is detected, where the maximum amplitude of the strain gauge signal is recorded, convert the signal from the strain gauge into the amplitude-frequency spectrum of oscillations of the impeller and save it as the amplitude-frequency spectrum of oscillations of the impeller corresponding to the indicated rotor rotation frequency, at the third stage, the oscillation frequencies corresponding to the peak amplitude values in the saved amplitude-frequency spectrum of oscillations of the rotating wheel are compared, with the amplitude-frequency spectrum of oscillations of the stationary wheel and take the identified diametral modes of oscillations of the stationary impeller as the diametral modes of oscillation of the rotating wheel at the correlated frequencies corresponding to the peak values of the oscillation amplitudes.
