WELL DRILLING PROCESS AUTOMATED CONTROL SYSTEM Russian patent published in 2023 - IPC E21B44/02 G05B13/04

Abstract RU 2808359 C1

FIELD: well drilling.

SUBSTANCE: means for automated control of the well drilling process. A system for automated control of the well drilling process is claimed, which contains: a global control platform; a model database linked to a global management platform; one or more ground computing centers, with each onshore computing center (CC) located on the drilling rig, connected to the global control platform and configured to receive data from the global control platform and control the maintenance of optimal drilling modes; and one or more drilling rigs, each of which is associated with an onshore CC. At the same time, the database includes models of electronized bits (EB), models of downhole motors (DM), assemblies of the lower part of the drill string and types of flushing fluids and models of geological sections of fields. Each onshore computing center is configured to transmit current data received from the drilling rig during the drilling process to the global control platform. And the global control platform is designed with the ability, based on current data, to automatically determine the characteristics of layers at the depth of the well and compare them with the model of the geological section of the field by layers, and if there is a discrepancy, automatically, based on current data, recalculate and update the model of the geological section of the field by layers in the database, automatically recalculate and update optimal drilling modes and transmit them to the onshore computing center for their regulation on the drilling rig during the drilling process.

EFFECT: ensuring maximum well drilling speed with minimal wear of surface and underground drilling tools, increasing the service life of the drilling tool and the efficiency of managing the well drilling process.
