FIELD: producing directed beams of silver ions.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in ion beam technologies for processing materials and in aerospace engineering to create miniature propulsion systems. The technical result is the production of an electrolyte for ion emission, which is resistant to low temperatures, chemically stable in atmospheric moisture and does not decompose in water and its vapour of any saturation, is poorly soluble in water, the ion source does not oxidize when interacting with atmospheric oxygen, while no silver paste is used, which is necessary for contact between the silver reservoir and the superionic electrolyte. The technical result is achieved through the use of solid-state superionic electrolyte GeS2-Sb2S3-Ag2S-AgI with mobile silver ions for ion emission, which is deposited in the form of a film on a metal pointed silver base, while germanium sulphide stabilizes the glassy system and opens additional transport channels for the movement of mobile ions, resistant to low temperatures and atmospheric moisture.
