FIELD: nuclear medical imaging technology.
SUBSTANCE: collimation detection unit contains an array of scintillating crystals used to receive gamma photons emitted by a radioactive source in the detected object; and a variety of photovoltaic devices used to receive gamma photons and convert them into a digital signal. The scintillation crystal array contains a plurality of scintillation crystals that are substantially parallel and spaced. Each scintillating crystal has an end surface and a side surface capable of receiving a beam emitted by a radioactive source. A plurality of photovoltaic devices is coupled to the end surfaces of a plurality of scintillating crystals.
EFFECT: device achieves reduction of gamma photon loss and prevention of gamma photon absorption by the printed circuit board and photoelectric devices in the detection collimation unit, improving spatial resolution, and eliminating the difficulty of processing many small parallel slits or punctures and simplifying the processing.
