FIELD: chemical kinetics.

SUBSTANCE: invention is related to a method for determining the thickness of layers of inorganic substances and can be used to assess the cleanliness of the surface of products during research in the field of chemical kinetics. The method for determining the thickness of layers of inorganic substances using the photocolorimetric method involves transferring the layer substance from the substrate into solution by dissolving in a suitable solvent to form a complex. A calibration curve is constructed in advance for this complex depending on the transmission of the ions of the analysed chemical element to determine the content of the substance in the solution. Using the calibration curve and the obtained transmission spectrum of the analyte, its concentration in the solution is determined, knowing which, taking into account the measured area of the substrate and the mass of the solution, the mass equivalent of the layer thickness is calculated.

EFFECT: provision of an accessible and reliable method for measuring the mass thickness of layers up to 1⋅10-10 g/m2.
