AUTOMATED SEGMENTATION OF TRI-PLANE IMAGES FOR REAL TIME ULTRASOUND IMAGING Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC A61B8/00 G06T7/00

Abstract RU 2677055 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medical equipment, specifically to medical ultrasound imaging means. Ultrasound diagnostic imaging system, which acquires standard view planes of the heart, comprises a matrix array probe which acquires 3D volume image data of a heart, memory which stores data of a geometrical heart model, a segmentation and tracking processor, which is configured to automatically respond to the image data of the heart and the heart model data, determine the initial orientation of the heart model based on the heart image data, generate a fitted heart model, transforming the heart model to fit the heart image data based on the determined initial orientation, segment from the heart model data predetermined view planes which are determined on the basis of key identification points in the heart model, wherein the orientation of each of the predetermined view planes are determined relative to the fitted heart model, and an image display device that responds to the segmentation and tracking processor and is configured to display images of view planes, wherein the segmentation and tracking processor is further configured to track the acquisition of consecutive images of the display planes for updating the displayed images. Method of obtaining standard display planes of the heart is performed using a diagnostic imaging system.

EFFECT: use of inventions allows to improve the spatial resolution of images.
