SUBSTANCE: invention relates to tools for identifying drill pipes. The marking label for drill pipes, on the surface of which 2D codes are applied, is designed to be placed on the surface of the drill pipe at an angle of 30-45° to the longitudinal axis of the drill pipe, a piece of flat tape in the form of a polyester spiral, with the possibility of applying identical 2D codes to one side using ribon sequentially and at an equal distance from each other, and to the other - an adhesive layer for adhesion to the surface of the drill pipe, or made of metal, with the possibility of applying 2D codes on one side using a laser, mechanically or by drop jetting, and on the other - an adhesive layer for adhesion to the surface of the drill pipe.
EFFECT: increased service life of the marking label and easier reading of the pipes.
