FIELD: production of coffee.
SUBSTANCE: instant drink powder consists of dry coffee extract, and the powder has a color difference ΔE with gold less than 100, and the powder has a luster at a geometry of 60° of at least 0.5 gloss units, and the structural density of the powder is from 0.7 to 1.4 g/ml, the powder also contains particles with at least one plate having an average thickness of 0.3 to 90 mcm, and wherein two or more plates contained in the particle are substantially parallel. A method of producing the said instant powder and a powder mixture for preparing a drink containing it are also described. A group of inventions relates to the production of an instant powdered coffee drink with a gold appearance, in the form of plates of dried coffee particles arranged in separate parallel layers.
