FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: following is disclosed: a method of assessing the functional state of thyrocytes of the thyroid gland, which includes preparing samples of thyroid tissue with thyrocytes, making sections, obtaining black and white photographs — electron diffraction patterns — by transmission electron microscopy. Moreover, to obtain images, at least 10 cells per field of view are randomly selected from a section of the thyroid gland at a magnification of 8,000. The morphological characteristics of structural formations, such as the nucleus, karyolemma, perinuclear space, nucleolus, chromatin, granular endoplasmic reticulum, mitochondria and plasmolemma on electron diffraction patterns, are assessed in points, and the lowest digital value — 0 points — is assigned to the morphological characteristic that maximally changes the morphology of the typical organelles of the thyrocyte, and the highest numerical value in points is assigned to the morphological characteristic whose structure fully corresponds to the norm. The sum of digital values in points is determined and the functional state of the thyrocyte is assessed: it is mitosis if the sum of points is 7–8, it is hypofunction if the sum of points is 9–20, it is hyperfunction if the sum of points is 21–27, it is normal function if the sum of points is 28–36 points.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to obtain an unambiguous conclusion about the functional state of thyrocytes of the thyroid gland.
