FIELD: detector means.

SUBSTANCE: signalling and control means used for remote detection of icing of structural elements of various objects. The icing detector contains the first and the second optical emitters, the first and the second photodetectors, a control transparent surface for ice deposition, a power supply device for the first optical emitter, a power supply device for the second optical emitter, the first and the second electrical oscillation generators, the first and the second selective amplifiers, a signal comparison device, signal processing unit, and device for generating signals about the presence of icing. The first and the second optical emitters are located in close proximity to the first and the second photodetectors, respectively. The first and the second photodetectors are located at a distance from one another. The field of view of the first and the field of view of the second photodetectors do not intersect. The first and the second optical emitters are optically coupled to the control transparent surface for ice deposition, respectively, through the first and the second polarizers. The first and the second photodetectors are optically coupled with the control transparent surface for ice deposition, respectively, through the first and the second analysers. The polarization plane of the first and the polarization plane of the second polarizers are orthogonal, respectively, to the polarization planes of the first and the polarization plane of the second analysers.
