FIELD: building materials.
SUBSTANCE: invention is related to production of lightweight granular aggregate, which is used to produce concrete, thermal insulation of walls, ceilings, partitions for low-rise construction. The method for producing lightweight granular aggregate involves moulding granules from plant polymer raw materials on a plate granulator and drying them. In this case, straw, reeds, peat, pre-crushed to 5-10 mm, woodworking waste, such as sawdust and machine shavings, are used as plant raw materials, and pre-crushed polystyrene foam waste is used as polymer raw materials at the ratio, in wt.%: 50-70: 30-50. After mixing the specified raw materials, citric acid or acetone is sprayed. Drying is carried out in the open air or by low-temperature heat treatment.
EFFECT: reduction in the energy intensity of the process, an increase in strength and heat-insulating properties, recycling of wood processing waste, plant raw materials and polystyrene foam waste.
