FIELD: internal combustion engines.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the maintenance of internal combustion engines. The method of in-place cleaning of internal combustion engine parts from carbon deposits is based on mixing fuel with water in a mixing tank, dispersing the resulting mixture and feeding it into the combustion chamber. The mixture of fuel and water is supplied to the combustion chamber when the fuel temperature exceeds +10° C. The mixture of fuel and water is taken from the mixing tank from different levels of the mixing tank depending on the temperature and engine speed determined by sensors, namely from the level of 0.85h, where h is the height of the fuel level from the bottom of the mixing tank, supplied at an engine temperature of less than 90°C and speed less than 1000 min-1, from a level of 0.5h at an engine temperature of more than 90°C and speeds from 1000 to 1500 min-1, and from the bottom of the mixing tank - at engine speeds above 1500 min-1.
EFFECT: increasing the degree of cleaning of engine parts due to the initial softening of carbon deposits.
