SUBSTANCE: method to treat hydrocarbon fuel for internal combustion engines, includes supply of fuel from a reservoir, mixing of fuel with water, dispersion and homogenisation of a water and fuel mixture, pumping of the produced mixture into a settling tank, its separation and subsequent supply of the cleaned fuel into the internal combustion engine. Treated fuel is supplied to a consumer from the settling tank from the level of 0.85h, when consumer temperature -t_cons.. is less than its optimal temperature - t_opt.. t_cons. < t_opt. and from the level of 0.5h under the condition, when t_cons. ≥ t_opt., where h - height of fuel level in the settling tank, at the same condition treatment products produced at the bottom of the settling tank are recycled by means of combustion in the consumer combustion chamber.

EFFECT: expanded class of treated hydrocarbon fuel, improved environmental indices of fuel.
