FIELD: medicine; ophthalmology.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to diagnose chronic dacryocystitis using computed tomography of the paranasal sinuses. The lacrimal sac is massaged after washing the lacrimal ducts. A contrast agent with dye is injected. Unihexol solution containing 300 mg/ml iodine is used as a contrast agent, and trephine blue is used as a dye, which is introduced until the contrast solution is uniformly colored dark blue. Then a colored contrast solution is injected into the lacrimal ducts using a syringe with a cannula under pressure until the patient feels full at the inner corner of the eye and blue fluid appears in the conjunctival sac. Then a cone beam computed tomography is performed.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to diagnose the presence of chronic dacryocystitis in a patient through visual monitoring of the filling of the lacrimal ducts with a contrast solution and obtaining informative images.
