FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention aims at assessing the lachrymal passages health (LPH). The LPH contrast-enhanced multispiral computer tomography is performed to measure a digital brightness of the region of interest in relation to the digital brightness of soft and bone tissues adjoining a visualised object directly in a projection from the right and left. The LPH health is assessed by a visualisation criterion (VC) by formula: V C = | 1 B 0 ( B 1 R + B 1 L ) / 2 | + | 1 B 0 ( B 2 R + B 2 L ) / 2 | 2 , wherein B0 is the digital brightness of the visualised object; B1R is the digital brightness of the soft tissues adjoining the visualised object from the right; B1L is the digital brightness of the soft tissues adjoining the visualised object from the left; B2R is the digital brightness of bone tissues adjoining the visualised object from the right; B2L is the digital brightness of bone tissues adjoining the visualised object from the left. If VC of the horizontal LPH is 30 and less, VC of the lachrymal sac is 55 and less, whereas VC of the nasolachrymal duct is 65 and less, the respective LPH is assessed as pathological.

EFFECT: method provides the objective assessment of the LHF taking into account their anatomic-topographic conditions for selecting the further therapeutic approach.
