FIELD: aerosol-generating systems.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a heating assembly suitable for use in an aerosol-generating device or aerosol-generating system. A heating assembly for heating an aerosol-generating substrate comprises: a heater comprising an electrically resistive heating element and a heater substrate; and a heater mount connected to the heater. The electrically resistive heating element comprises a first section and a second section configured such that when electric current is passed through the heating element, the first section is heated to a higher temperature than the second section. The first heating element portion is located in the heating region of the heater substrate, and the second heating element portion is located in the holding region of the heater substrate. The heater mount is attached to the holding region of the heater substrate. The second portion of the electrically resistive heating element is longer than the first portion of the electrically resistive heating element. The second section of the electroresistive heating element has a length of from 12 mm to 20 mm.
EFFECT: providing a reliable heating unit for an aerosol-generating device, which has a localized heat source for heating the aerosol-generating substrate.
