FIELD: nutritional compositions.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a nutritional composition for infants and young children. A nutritional composition for infants or young children contains proteins, carbohydrates and lipids, the said proteins including ionic complexes of lactoferrin with acidic milk proteins. Moreover, these complexes have a negative charge at the pH of the infant formula, and the specified acidic milk protein is selected from the group consisting of alpha-lactalbumin (ALAC), beta-lactoglobulin (BLG), whey protein isolate (WPI), whey protein concentrate (WPC), whey protein hydrolysate, casein and their combinations. In the ionic complex the mass ratio of lactoferrin and acidic milk protein is in the range from 1:0.25 to 1:3.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to obtain a stable nutritional composition that provides a feeling of satiety and/or improves sleep and/or limits night awakening in infants or young children.
