FIELD: hydraulic engineering construction.
SUBSTANCE: channels used as part of hydraulic and irrigation systems as open drainage structures. In a waste channel of a polygonal cross-section, containing two components with symmetrical pairs of slopes, the upper ones with a laying of m1 and the bottom with a laying of m2, along the top of the triangular base, gabion mats 1 are arranged in one longitudinal row, which are made with a length of 2.2-2.5 m, 0.6-0.8 m wide and 0.3-0.4 m thick, made of stone material and galvanized metal mesh. On the left and right, flexible cylindrical mats 4 are attached to the gabion mats 1, laid along the riverbed and bottom slopes m2. Flexible cylindrical mats 4 are made of perforated drainage pipes, wrapped around with biomats and geogrid, and connected to each other using metal wire. Along the line of the side slopes m1, flat and flexible slabs 8 of 2-3 layers of geomat 9 are laid in dense rows, on top of which a protective mesh is covered and attached in places to the base surface using fiberglass or metal stakes 11. Due to the water permeability and flexibility of the design of the slope fastenings of the polygonal channel, a favorable water regime is provided for the germination and development of the root system of plants, and the prevention of erosion processes in the channel bed with minimal material and labor costs.
EFFECT: drainage canal with a polygonal cross-section can be most effectively used as part of low-pressure dam and dam-free hydroelectric systems, as well as in the main irrigation network in foothill, hard-to-reach areas.
