FIELD: construction.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to hydrotechnical construction, namely to channels used as part of waterworks and irrigation systems as open spillway structures. Method of erecting a spillway of polygonal section includes development of a groove of polygonal section with two symmetrical pairs of slopes, upper with laying m1 and bottom with laying m2, planning and reinforcement of slopes, laying along the top of the triangular base in one longitudinal row of gabion mattresses 1, on the left and on the right to which flexible cylindrical mattresses 4 are attached, laid along the channel and bottom slopes m2. Gabion mattresses 1 are made with length of 2.2-2.5 m, width of 0.6-0.8 m and thickness of 0.3-0.4 m from stone material and metal galvanized net. Flexible cylindrical mattresses 4 are made from perforated drainage tubes wound around with biomats and geogrid and connected to each other by means of metal wire. Flat and flexible plates 8 of 2-3 layers of geomat 9 are laid in dense rows along the line of side slopes m1, on top of which a protective mesh is wrapped and attached in places to the surface of the base using stakes 11. Slope attachments of polygonal channel collected in this way create a favourable water mode for germination and development of root system of plants, and prevention of erosion processes in channel bed with minimum material and labour costs.
EFFECT: channel of polygonal cross-section can be most effectively used in low-pressure dam and non-dam hydraulic systems, as well as in main irrigation network on foothill areas that are difficult to access.
