FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the methods of selecting and using known drugs and pharmaceutical compounds that cause mitochondrial dysfunction in macrophages for antitumor therapy. The claimed invention provides the possibility of using drugs and pharmacological compounds known as such that affect macrophages by changing their mitochondrial functions, namely, shifting mitochondrial metabolism from oxidative phosphorylation, characteristic of M2 type macrophages, to the glycolytic type, characteristic of M1 type macrophages, for treatment of oncological diseases.
EFFECT: invention is promising for the treatment of cancer, and can also be used in the future to prevent the occurrence of cancer.
