FIELD: biotechnology.

SUBSTANCE: following has been proposed: a method of controlling the expression of a target gene in Escherichia coli cells, which consists of cloning the target gene in E. coli cells under the control of a LuxR2-regulated promoter together with luxR2 gene under the control of its own promoter and varying the cultivation temperature of the resulting cells and the concentration of the autoinducer. LuxR2 gene encoding LuxR2 regulatory protein was isolated from the genome of psychrophilic luminescent bacteria of Aliivibrio genus. When the cultivation temperature decreases to 22°C, expression of the target gene is activated in a dose-dependent manner in the presence of N-(3-oxohexanoyl)-lactone L-homoserine in the concentration range from 1 nM to 10 μM and stops when the temperature rises to 37°C.

EFFECT: invention ensures that the target protein content is 30% of the total cellular protein.
