FIELD: determining the concentrations of chemical elements.
SUBSTANCE: invention is proposed to determine the concentrations of chemical elements in a solid or liquid substance moving on a conveyor. The essence of the invention is that a device for determining the concentrations of chemical elements in a solid or liquid substance moving on a conveyor using the tagged neutron method in real time contains a neutron generator designed to generate a flux of tagged neutrons, and an alpha detector is built into the neutron generator; gamma radiation detectors designed to register characteristic gamma radiation arising when a substance moving on a conveyor is irradiated with a flux of tagged neutrons; a data analysis system designed to collect and analyse data received from the alpha detector and gamma radiation detectors; biological protection ensuring safe work of personnel; a temperature control system for gamma radiation detectors, made water- and dust-proof, wherein the temperature control system for gamma radiation detectors is designed to maintain a constant temperature of gamma radiation detectors during operation with an accuracy in the range from 1 to 0.01°C; and a telemetry system for monitoring the operation of the device for determining the concentrations of chemical elements in a solid or liquid substance moving on a conveyor using the tagged neutron method in real time.
EFFECT: increasing the accuracy of determining the concentrations of chemical elements.
