SUBSTANCE: invention is intended to install a short circuit indicator (SCI) on the wire of an overhead power line (OPL). The clamp for attaching the SCI to the wire of an overhead power line is placed in the upper part of the square body of the SCI. The clamp contains a clamping bracket equipped with a spring with a recess for the wire, mounted movably on an axis, and a thrust bracket made integral with the base with a similar recess, having an axis with a spacer rod movably attached to it, interacting with the stop of the clamping bracket. The clamp has an opening in the clamping bracket and an inclined slot in the base, with the L-shaped end of the spring placed in the hole of the clamping bracket and bent to prevent falling out, and the U-shaped end of the spring placed in the inclined slot of the base.
