FIELD: oil and gas industry.
SUBSTANCE: methods for non-destructive testing and assessment of the stress-strain state of zones on the surface of high-risk metal structures of the oil and gas chemical complex using fragile strain-sensitive coatings under static or dynamic loading. A method for studying the process of crack formation in brittle strain-sensitive coatings consists of applying a strain-sensitive coating to the surface of a part, loading the part and identifying stress-strain zones from the cracks formed in the coating. Before applying the strain-sensitive coating, a finely dispersed reflective component is added to its composition, the particles of which, when a crack opens in the brittle coating and illumination enters the cracks, revealing zones of formation and concentration of cracks, the composition of the coating is used with the following ratio of components, wt.%: rosin - 88-92; glitter - 8-12.
EFFECT: simplification of the method for studying the process of crack formation in brittle strain-sensitive coatings and improving the quality of the information obtained about the level of stress and deformation in a thin layer of a brittle coating.
