FIELD: oil and gas.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to geophysical control over the development of oil fields, in particular monitoring the technical condition of existing wells equipped with a metal casing. A method is claimed for determining annular fluid flow in production and injection wells, which includes recording the temperature in the casing before and after its short-term local induction heating. In particular, short-term local induction heating of a section of the casing string below the perforated formations in a shut-in well is carried out, after which the temperature change over time in the middle of the heated section is recorded. Next, the well is put into operation for fluid withdrawal or injection and short-term local induction heating of the same section of the casing is carried out and temperature changes in the middle of the heated section are recorded. Then the curves of temperature changes over time obtained in a stopped and operating well are compared. The presence of annular flow is judged by the decrease in the maximum temperature at the recording point and the increased rate of change in temperature over time in a working well compared to a shut-in one.
EFFECT: increased accuracy of determining behind-the-casing liquid flows by recording the temperature at the point of its maximum change during the induction heating process.
