FIELD: measurement; mining.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to geophysical control of technical condition of cased wells during development of oil and gas deposits. Method for determining behind-the-casing fluid flow in operating wells involves induction heating of the casing string and recording the temperature of its inner surface during heating by sensors uniformly distributed along the perimeter of the column and having thermal contact with it. Local induction heating of the casing string is carried out with duration of not less than duration of radial propagation of thermal disturbances along the string and cement. Temperature of the inner surface of the casing string along the perimeter during the heating process and after its termination is recorded at the heating section. According to readings of temperature sensors plotting curve of azimuthal distribution of temperature in casing string, on which a sector with a sharp decrease in the temperature value is selected, which indicates local cooling of the casing string in this sector due to heat removal from the string by the liquid flow, which corresponds to the presence of behind-the-casing liquid movement.
EFFECT: enabling increase in the fluid behind-the-casing flow determination reliability.
