FIELD: electrochromic devices.
SUBSTANCE: device includes a first optically transparent substrate having an inner surface and a second optically transparent substrate having an inner surface, wherein the inner surfaces of the first and second substrates are opposite each other and separated from each other; electrochromic composition; a first electrode located on at least one of said inner surface of the first or second optically transparent substrate, wherein said first electrode is located within said optical path for transmitting light through said electrochromic device; a second electrode which is located outside said optical path for transmitting light through the electrochromic device. The second electrode is ionically connected to the mentioned electrochromic composition.
EFFECT: invention improves the electrical characteristics of the device.
