FIELD: chemical industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for producing a cocatalyst for catalytic systems based on zirconium tetraisobutyrate during the oligomerization of ethylene. The proposed method involves the interaction of ZrCl4 with a mixture of isobutyric acid and water, with a water content in the mixture of 0.2-3.0 wt.%, in a non-polar solvent, followed by heating the mixture until the release of the resulting HCl completely ceases.
EFFECT: ability to produce a cocatalyst based on zirconium tetraisobutyrate with optimal catalytic activity, when used as a cocatalyst for the catalytic system for oligomerization of ethylene into higher α-olefins reduces the yield of heavy oligomerization products.
