FIELD: inorganic compounds technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for manufacturing calcium chloride when reusing chlorine-containing calcium production emission gases and, more specifically, to employment of anhydrous calcium chloride in electrolytic production of metallic calcium. Manufacture of calcium chloride comprises: preparation of sorbent, in particular mixture of suspensions of lime milk and acetylene production waste at volume ratios (90-0):(10-100); chlorination of sorbent with chlorine-air mixture at 35-40°C; decomposition of calcium hypochlorite when concentration of calcium oxide reaches 60-80 g/L; two-step cleaning of destroyed pulp by treating it with aqueous hydrochloric acid while consecutively lowering pH in the first step to 11-10 and, in the second step, to 9-8; filtration of pulp after each cleaning step; and drying cleaned concentrated calcium chloride solution with mixture of air and direct flue gases.
EFFECT: reduced consumption of materials and power.
