FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in chemical industry during decontamination of calcium hypochlorite pulp formed during purification of chlorine-containing gases from chlorine with lime milk. Method of decontaminating calcium hypochlorite pulp involves withdrawal of waste calcium hypochlorite pulp from a circulation system into a vessel, treatment with a solution of hydrochloric acid. Solution of hydrochloric acid used is an abbreviated hydrochloric acid with concentration of 10–15 wt% obtained during decontamination of waste gases of chlorination of titanium mixture in titanium chlorators. Waste pulp of calcium hypochlorite before treatment with waste hydrochloric acid is divided into clarified hypochlorite solution and sediment. Content of calcium hypochlorite is determined in the clarified hypochlorite solution. Clarified hypochlorite solution is fed into a sealed container and, while stirring, waste hydrochloric acid is gradually added. Amount of hydrogen chloride in the added waste hydrochloric acid is kept at 5–25 % excess from the stoichiometrically required calcium hypochlorite content in the clarified hypochlorite solution. Then released gaseous chlorine is compressed and returned to production of titanium for chlorination of titanium-containing charge. Sediment is disposed in treatment facilities.
EFFECT: invention enables to reduce content of active chlorine in industrial waste water, reduce environmental contamination, obtain gaseous chlorine in the process of neutralization.
