SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an aerosol-generating device for heating an aerosol-generating substrate. The device provided in the cylindrical aerosol-generating product includes a longitudinally extending cavity for receiving a distal portion of the aerosol-generating product. The longitudinally extending cavity has a longitudinal axis and is formed by a base, side walls extending from the base, and an opening at the end of the cavity opposite the base. The inner surfaces of the side walls form a stabilizing part of the cavity having a first diameter, and a heating part of the cavity located between the stabilizing part and the base. The heating part has a second diameter that is larger than the first diameter. The inner walls of the cavity further form a mounting part located at the far end of the cavity, a heating part located between the stabilizing part and the mounting part. The installation part of the cavity has a third diameter, which is equal to the first diameter of the stabilizing part.

EFFECT: improved thermal insulation of the aerosol-generating substrate.
