FIELD: electric engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to laser engineering and may be used in various industries, namely, to develop and manufacture laser devices for metal treatment at high and medium power and radiance. The solid diode-pumped laser contains active element, resonator formed by non-transmitting mirror and semi-transparent mirrors. The laser-based source of pumping are located from, at least, one side of front opposite edges of active element so that pumped beam is directed along laser resonator. The said laser also includes optical means to collimate pumping radiation and optical element to focus pumping radiation to the front edges of the active element. The said optical element is represented as a prismatic raster consisting of two lines of sequential optical wedges lying along pumping radiation distribution lines. In addition, the said wedges of each line are parallel to each other and orthogonal to wedges of the other line. The refracting edges of the second line wedges are directed to the active element, while refracting edges of the first line wedges are directed opposite. Values of refracting wedge angles in each line decrease in the direction from the line end to its centre.
EFFECT: increased evenness of pumping radiation distribution in active laser element and increased power of laser radiation.
