FIELD: agriculture.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to nitrogen-containing fertilizers. A method of producing a fertilizer composition includes: a) providing a solid and/or liquid premix (P), b) adding a premix (P) to a melt (Q) comprising a urea-containing fertilizer (1), by forming a mixture (M) comprising at least at least one urea-containing fertilizer (1) and at least one (thio)phosphoric acid triamide (2), and c) forming solid fertilizer granules by using a mixture (M) comprising at least one urea-containing fertilizer (1) and at least one (thio)phosphoric acid triamide (2), wherein the fertilizer composition contains (I) at least one urea-containing fertilizer (1); and (II) at least one (thio)phosphoric acid triamide (2), which is N-n-butylthiophosphoric acid triamide (NBPT), N-n-propylthiophosphoric acid triamide (NPPT), and a combination thereof. The premix (P) contains at least one urea-containing fertilizer (1) and at least one (thio)phosphoric acid triamide (2) in a mass ratio of 4:1-50:1, based on the total mass of all urea-containing fertilizers fertilizers (1) and all (thio)phosphoric acid triamides (2), and at least 85 wt.% of the premix (P) (a1) is not a melt; and (a2) is not obtained by melting any of at least one urea-containing fertilizer (1) or melting any of at least one (thio)phosphoric acid triamide (2); and (a3) is prepared by dissolving or mixing at least one (thio)phosphoric acid triamide (2) in a solvent (S) having a boiling point above 100°C, where the solvent (S) contains an amine. The time provided to the mixture (M) before granulation is adjusted so that at least one (thio)phosphoric acid triamide (2) is not decomposed or almost not decomposed in the mixture (M).

EFFECT: proposed method of producing a fertilizer composition ensures resistance to premature decomposition of fertilizers containing urea and increases their shelf life.
